nike blog on kobe and lakers ( one for the thumb )
Players battle for the honor of champion. To the victor: basketball superiority.
But defending the crown you already wear? Often times, even harder.
Long after the confetti stopped raining at The Coliseum, the 2009 NBA
Champions were rewarded accordingly. The City of Angels mobbed to
celebrate. Players added to their personal jewelry collection. Staples
got new drapes.

KOBE VISIT SOUTH AFRICA
As reported on ESPN.com, Kobe Bryant made his first trip to Africa count on Sunday, visiting with young athletes in Soweto while “using his trilingual skills with the World Cup press corps, and displaying a keen knowledge of international soccer.”
Bryant shared that he picked Germany to win the Cup before the tournament started, cited how much he enjoys watching the team game - with ridiculous talent - played by Brazil, and offered praise for the effort of Team USA.
Before he left for South Africa last week, Bryant also told us that he’d try to check in with star Argentinean Lionel Messi, with whom he visited at the 2008 Olympics.
Furthermore, Bryant explained that he’d cheer for Spain in the Iberian Peninsula battle with Portugal on Tuesday morning out of allegiance to Lakers’ teammate Pau Gasol.
